AOV and Free Fire Become Official Games in Student-Level Esports Tournaments

This is good news for students, but also gamers. Recently, there was news that the Ministry of Youth and Sports, assisted by Garena, was ready to hold a national level Esports tournament for students from Junior High School to Senior High School. Later in this tournament, 40,000 students from 600 schools in Java and Sumatra will participate.

In detail, this tournament itself will start from the city level and then continue to a higher level, namely the regional level. And finally, the participants will compete at the national level for the Menpora Cup. Not Mobile Legends, the games that will be competed in this tournament are Arena of Valor and Free Fire.

How come? The reason is because AOV itself won the Best Multiplayer Game nomination at the International Mobile Gaming Award (IMGA) 2018. Free Fire itself was chosen because it was the Google Play User’s Game Choice of 2018. As reported by Bola, Asril Sadikit Satar as the event organizer said that this tournament will be held from February 18 to the end of September 2019.

In addition, Imam Nahrawi also revealed that Esports itself has become an industry that will later create opportunities for young people to be proud of Indonesia’s name in the world.
