Pocketing investment funds from Razer, MOLPoints changed its name to zGold-MOLPoints

MOL (MOL AccessPortal), a Malaysian company, recently received funding from Razer, the world’s leading maker of gaming hardware products.

Min-Liang Tan, CEO of Razer, is said to have bought up to a 20% stake in the Malaysian company through its subsidiary, ZV-Midas.

This investment made by Razer was made after they announced a partnership with 3 Groups (Hong Kong) to reach the gaming community, as well as their expansion into Southeast Asia after obtaining Series C funding from Horizons Ventures, which made the company’s valuation value jump to IDR 19.8 trillion.

This investment is made as an agreement as well as part of their partnership.

Later, MOL will become the main distributor of this well-known company’s virtual currency, zGold, which was introduced in March 2017.

zGold itself is part of Razer’s digital wallet product, zVault aimed at the market video games to buy in-app items by doing top-up using PayPal, Credit Card, and other methods payment other.

With this cooperation agreement, where MOL will become the main distributor of zGold virtual currency, later MOLPoints will change its name to zGold-MOLPoints which will be distributed and marketed in Southeast Asia including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and of course, Indonesia.

Not only targeting the Southeast Asian market, zGold-MOLPoints will also be marketed in Australia and New Zealand.

It seems, Min-Liang Tan is indeed increasingly aggressively growing his company’s business by entering other markets. Do you think Razer should still make hardware products gaming or have to do something as already mentioned ?
